    Description
Light grey granite Celtic Cross with decorative knotwork and bosses at centre face and arm terminals. Mounted on a battered plinth, which carries the black-lead WW1 inscriptions and two-stepped base, with the WW2 memorial on the front of the top step. Set at the apex of a sloping triangular-shaped garden in the angle of the road junction. Note: this memorial replaced an earlier temporary shrine erected at St Mary's Church, Gisburn, in December 1918 (see memorial 54712). While the temporary shrine had 17 names recorded on it, the permanent memorial only has nine First World War names on it.
