    Description
Bronze statue of a WW1 soldier in uniform with helmet, pack and rifle on a Portland stone plinth. The semi-circular stone wall behind has wreath-like shapes at the ends. The WW1 names are on two bronze plaques on the two sides of the plinth: each has two columns of names and one (the original with surnames H-W) has a relief image of a manned trench and battlefield at its base. The front face of the plinth carries the carved commemoration and the WW2 plaque: there is a small, additional WW1 name plaque on rear of memorial. Flower pots stand to either side of the figure and pedestal.
