    • Lynn Advertiser, Friday 17 December 1920 (page 3) reported: 'HOLKHAM. WAR MEMORIAL. On Sunday afternoon a memorial tablet to 19 Holkham men who fell in the war was unveiled by the Earl of Leicester and dedicated by the Dean of Norwich, assisted by the Vicar (the Rev. P. F. Boughey). A special service was used for the ceremony. After the unveiling the hymn "O valiant hearts" was sung by the choir, assisted by the men and boys of Wells parish church choir, under the direction of Mr. J. H. Lilfey, A.R.C.A. (organist and choirmaster of Wells parish church). Chopin's Funeral March was played during the procession from the chancel to the memorial. The Dean preached an impressive sermon on the text "Their name liveth for ever." The hymn "For all the Saints" was sung, and the National Anthem concluded the service. In spite of the inclement weather, a very large congregation attended, including a number of ex-servicemen, who placed a wreath at the foot of the tablet'.
