- 2006, September: According to Evening Times memorial was due to be inspected and repaired. MEMORIAL WAS DESTROYED BY ENEMY ACTION ON THE NIGHT OF THE CLYDEBANK BLITZ 13/14 MARCH 1941. REPLACEMENT WAS PAID FOR BY THE WAR DAMAGE COMMISSION AND ERECTED IN 1951
