    • Herts and Essex Observer Saturday 11/1/1919 reported that a public meeting was held in the schoolroom at Littlebury, to discuss what form the village memorial should take.
Herts and Essex Observer Saturday 23/10/1920 reported: 'On Sunday afternoon in the presence of a large congregation Lady Braybrooke unveiled a War Memorial and cross which has been erected in Littlebury Churchyard and also in the church a brass tablet bearing the names of the men of the parish who fell in the war. The officiating clergy were the Vicar (Rev. E.E. Edgerley) and the Rev. W. Painter of Chelmsford. About 30 ex-soldiers and sailors attended, together with the relatives and friends of the fallen and other parishioners. After the dedication, buglers F. King and E. King of Saffron Walden sounded the Last Post'.
