    Maintenance History
This memorial stone tablet was the centre piece of the Pavilion that was built after World War One in memory of the 87 Old Skinners’ who had given their lives in the war. The Memorial Pavilion was designed by a local architect, Stankey Philpot, an old boy of the school. It was opened formally by Mrs Alice Knott, wife of our first Headmaster on Leopards’ Day, 15th July 1922. The Pavilion stood in the south-east corner of The Skinners’ School grounds, close to Currie Road, until its demolition in 2012. However, the memorial stone was recovered and now stands here at the entrance to the school, to perpetuate the memory of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
