    • Great Yarmouth Mercury online, 13th January 2013 (By Sam Russell): 'Bradwell’s war heroes honoured with new memorial. THEY gave their lives for our country, but their memory was 'neglected'. Two dozen names of fallen servicemen are gathering dust, on engraved brass memorials, locked away in St Nicholas' Church, Bradwell, where few can see them. But at last the village's war dead will be honoured, now a memorial has been commissioned. A 7ft tall memorial, sculpted from ruby red granite, is planned for Church Walk...' (The report mentioned that funding of £4,000 was being backed from the ward budgets of four borough councillors and the support of the parish council, and quoted the Churchwarden as stating that: 'The names were just on pieces of wood in the church, and we felt this wasn't really good in as much as people coming to the village looking up their relatives had nowhere to refer to'. It also mentioned that memorial was being created 'with the help of Colin Smith Monumental Masons, of Hammond Road, Great Yarmouth'., and would stand on a 'fairly wide' plinth, approximately '28ins by 28ins and 4ins tall'). https://www.greatyarmouthmercury.co.uk/news/21087297.bradwells-war-heroes-honoured-new-memorial/ It is anticipated that the memorial will be ready around March 2013, ahead of an official ceremony to unveil it to the village.

    • Great Yarmouth Mercury online, report dated 31/1/2014, mentioned that installation had been delayed, but that 'The official unveiling is likely to take place in August'. https://www.greatyarmouthmercury.co.uk/news/21083341.carving-names-pride-bradwells-new-war-memorial/
    • Great Yarmouth Mercury online (letters) dated 30/5/2014, included the announcement by Bradwell Parish Clerk: 'The new Bradwell War Memorial commissioned by Bradwell Parish Council and paid for with borough councillors’ ward budget monies will be unveiled at 10.45am on Sunday, August 3, the eve of the start of the First World War. Great Yarmouth Brass Band will be in attendance from 10.30am to play suitable music during the event. In connection with the event it is hoped to publish in the October 2014 edition of Bradwellian a roll of honour in respect of those men from the First World War and Second World War remembered on the memorial. Some details have been found in respect of most of those named. However, nothing relevant has been discovered in respect of Arthur William Bailey (WW1), who was buried in Bradwell Churchyard on 26.1.1918, and no information on William Eagle (WW2), who may have resided in Sandy Lane, Bradwell, 1939-45. However, any further information concerning anyone named on the memorial will be welcome'. https://www.greatyarmouthmercury.co.uk/lifestyle/21026680.letters-may-30-2014/
