    • The sculptor Charles Pilkington D'or Jackson's business papers are lodged in the National Library, Edinburgh, Accesssion Number 7445. In Box 1, File 40 there is some correspondance regarding Jackson's work on the memorial. The panel was designed by architect F.C. Mears and is of green Egyptian marble. According to a press release prepared for the unveiling on 25/6/1921 the female figure represents 'Honour' standing at the doorway of an early Greek tomb flanked by men in Western Front and Gallipoli kit. One part also describes the regiment as the 'Queen's Edinburgh Rifles'.
