    Maintenance History
In 2002 War Memorials Trust gave a grant of £250 towards conservation of the plaque. Previous attempts at restoration needed to be repaired. The memorial was cleaned with distilled water and afterwards a micro-crystalline wax applied to the surface to leave a dark brown patina with the red-gold letters visible. This created an even appearance and covered earlier damage.
