Description: Oak board originally displayed at the Victory Sports Ground Bury St Edmunds (WMR 21092) giving thanks for the safe return from WW1 of Green King employees and all six of the Managing Director's sons and commemorating those employees who did not return.
Inscription: THE GREAT WAR/ AUGUST 4TH 1914./ NOVEMBER 11TH 1918./ FRANCE, FLANDERS, GALLIPOLI,/ PALESTINE, EGYPT, MESOPOTAMIA,/ SALONIKA./ THIS PAVILION AND SPORTS GROUND WERE MADE AND MAINTAINED/ BY GREEN KING & SONS, LIMITED./ AS A THANK OFFERING FOR VICTORY AND FOR THE SAKE RETURN/ OF THEIR EMPLOYEES WHOSE LIVES WERE SPARED, & A MEMORIAL/ TO THE FOLLOWING, WHO DIED FOR KING & COUNTRY/ (NAMES)
