    Description
Stained glass window with large central depiction of St Nicholas on a pedestal surrounded by depictions of King Alfred, Vice Admiral Nelson, Sir Francis Drake and Rear Admiral Sir Cradock. Each smaller figure is on a pedestal and crowned with their flagship. Two cherubs at top are holding a compass and sextant and are separated by a forward sailing ship. At bottom are a framed Royal Navy crown and fouled anchor. Framed and glazed history of the stained glass windows mounted on the wall nearby.
    Inscription
History of the windows: AT THE WEST END/ The Cradock window was originally given to H.M.S. ST. VINCENT/ in memory of Admiral Sir Christopher Cradock who was lost with his/ flagship GOOD HOPE after attacking a superior German force at/ the battle of Coronel in 1914. His attempt to damage the enemy/ led to the loss of his ship and the MONMOUTH. The German/ force including SCHARNHORST and GNEISENAU, was later/ defeated in the battle of the Falkland Islands. Here is a stirring/ example of loyalty to Nelson's adage 'engage the enemy more closely'./ It was moved to St. George's after the closing of H.M.S. ST. VINCENT.
