Type of Memorial: Addition to gravestone
WMR Reference Number: 103673
Description: Light grey granite obelisk type headstone in four part. The base plinth is shallow but wide forming a square, on top of which sits an upper, much larger block plinth which is of polished granite. The main inscription section is tall and tapers towards the top and although it is polished on all four sides, currently only has inscriptions on the front. The top section has a Greco-Roman type roof on all four sides which flare our from the top of the memorial and on top of which sits an ancient style urn draped with a cloth design. The inscriptions are by means of engravings into the stone.
Inscription: In Memory of / JAMES YOUNG / FARMER, BOGINDUIE, ABERLOUR / WHO DIED 22ND DECEMBER 1890 / AGED 65 YEARS. / ALSO LIEUT. ACT. CAPT. W. YOUNG, / 2ND CAMERON HDRS. / ELDER SON OF WM. YOUNG M.P. / AND GRANDSON OF THE ABOVE / JAMES YOUNG / WHO FELL IN ACTION / NEAR YPRES, 22ND AUGT. 1917, / AGED 25 YEARS.
