Description: Wall mounted, portrait orientated engraved brass plaque incorporating a crown and cross at top centre. Initial letters of principal words infilled with red paint, remaining script infilled with black paint. A single-lined border infilled red, encloses the inscriptions and names. Some of the infill paints are either flaking or missing.
Inscription: In Loving Memory of the / Rev. Richard Charles William Raban, MA. / ( ..... ) / Died April 1st.. 1913. Aged 74 years / After 50 years Ministry and for the last / 18 1/2 years Vicar of this Parish. / " I am the Resurrection and the Life." / also of his elder son / Lt. Col. Richard Bassett Cockburn Raban, / 1st.. Duke of York's Own Lancers. / (attached to the 13th.. Batt. Royal Scots.) / Killed in Action near Vermelles, France, / in the 35th.. year of his age, May 11th.. 1916. / Now the Battle Day is past. / In grateful remembrance by relatives and friends / in Bishops Hull.
