    Modern brick, steel and glass hospital building. Memorial in hospital grounds: Free-standing polycarbonate WW1 memorial plaque on a steel frame in grounds to rear of hospital. The 312 names on this board are from Henley and are based on research by Mike Willoughby, much of it published in Men of Henley 1914-1921 (Ref.6). For interior war memorial see WMR 60061.

    1946 Henley's former workhouse and Public Assistance Institution becomes "Townlands Hospital". 2014 Bringing Them Home published. This book presents the biographies of the men of Henley and district who died in the first world war. 2016 The new Townlands Hospital opens. 2016 Two-year Campaign to name the hospital "Townlands Memorial Hospital" in memory of the War Memorial Hospital in Harpsden Way successful 2017 Townlands Memorial Hospital officially opened by the Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, Tim Stevenson OBE on 29 March 2017 2018 Plaque in hospital grounds commemorating the death of 312 Henley residents unveiled by the Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, Tim Stevenson OBE on 2 November 1918. The names on the board are based on those listed in Bringing them Home.
