- Description
- Family memorial in three parts, consisting of a very large rectangular base plinth of light coloured granite which tapers upwards at the top where it joins a smaller but also large upper plinth also of light coloured granite. This upper plinth has the surname of 'Wilson' engraved into the stone by cutting behind the lettering so that the name protrudes. This upper plinth also tapers upwards towards the main memorial stone of black granite which sits centrally on top. This stone is highly polished only on its face and tapers from the base upwards to the top. The top has a central triangular arch which steps vertically down near the sides of the stone before it shoulders out slightly on a level plain. Underneath this central arch is an etched laural leaf which sits proud to the stone and ripples out towards the sides. The lettering has been engraved into it and has been highlighted with gold paint although this is beginning to fade. The sides and the back of the main memorial have been buffed smooth but are unpolished.
