Description: Large wall mounted marble tablet with highly craved panel tracery and a figure of St Michael in a niche in the head. Two inset brass plaques bearing the names of the fallen. The main dedication is bewteen the two name plaques and is carved into the stone. This lettering is in relief and is painted gold. Beneath this is a moulded Lancashire Rose, also painted gold.
Inscription: TABLET: TO THE/ GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN HONOURABLE/ MEMORY OF THOSE OF/ THIS PARISH WHO/ MADE THE SUPREME/ SACRIFICE AND FELL/ IN THE GREAT EUROPEAN WAR OF/ 1914 1918 LEFT PLAQUE: NAVY/ (NAMES)/ ARMY/ (NAMES) RIGHT PLAQUE: (NAMES) LOWER PLAQUE: THIS MEMORIAL WAS ERECTED BY/ ROBERT SHAW SIMPSON/ IN LOVING MEMORY OF ELIZABETH/ HIS DEAR WIFE WHO DIED MAY 31 1917
