    Description
Branch Library built in brick in an Art Deco style with memorial tablets and a sculpture on its front wall. The original Great War Coniston slate memorial tablets carrying the incised Names sit each side of a carved Stancliffe stone panel bearing the dates of the conflict above a figure of a shrouded, recumbent soldier, with his helmet beside his exposed head, and his forage cap at its foot. It is framed by slate panels. The upper of these is interrupted by a panel carrying the Lever coat of arms and motto (Mutare Vel Timere Sperno), with the Dedication on the lower panel. The WW2 Names are incised on two slate panels installed beneath the centre panel. The years of the conflict are carved at the centre.
