    Description
Tapered Westmoreland Elterwater green granite column on a black granite plinth and base, with the badge of the Battalion, a floriated fleur-de-Lys on each of its four sides, with the inscriptions on the plinth. Created in 1933 as a replacement for a large, three-panel white marble memorial carrying the names of the fallen which originally stood in the Battalion's Drill Hall nearby in Burlington Street (WMR 114622). The building was sold and the memorial deliberately obliterated. A Roll of Honour was created in October 1933 to carry the names of those inscribed on the original tablets (WMR 114658). There is a laminated plastic explanatory plaque relating to the memorial nearby.
