    • Belfast Telegraph - Tuesday 01 June 1948 (page 4) printed a photo of the Roll of Honour, and the following report: 'HARBOUR BOARD HONOUR ROLL. UNVEILING CEREMONY. A Roll of Honour to the members of the staff of the Belfast Harbour Board who served in the World War, 1939-1945, was unveiled at the Harbour Office to-day. It will later be hung in the main entrance hall. The ceremony, at which the Chairman. Mr. J. M'Caughey, C.B.E., presided, was held in the presence of many of those who served and of relatives of the eight members who made the supreme sacrifice. Mr. M'Caughey said that from a total staff of 800 those who answered the call numbered 112, a very high proportion considering how many were reserved to carry on the essential work of the port. It was a matter of pride to the Commissioners that so many had volunteered. He expressed the Board's sympathy with the relatives of those who had not returned but who would be remembered with gratitude. The Roll of Honour was unveiled by Mc R. P. C. Gotto, O.B.E., and was followed by the sounding of the Last Post and Reveille, and a minute's silence. The Chairman afterwards presented a photograph of the Roll to the ex-Service men and women and to relatives of the fallen. The Roll of Honour was executed by W. & G. Baird, Ltd'. https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0002318/19480601/112/0004
