- Description
- A stone column 8.848 feet tall mounted on stepped plinth. On the top are two crossed Khukri knives with a Gurkha Hat mounted in the middle. Each face features the flags of Nepal and the UK. Mounted in the top of the front face is a glass box containing stones and soil from places with deep connections to the Gurkhas. Each face is a black panel with gold inscriptions.

- Front face: THE GURKHAS/WE WILL REMEMBER THEM -/THE GURKHAS' LEGACY LIVES ON/FROM THE HILLS OF NEPAL, THEY ANSWERED THE CALL,/IN DEEP TRENCHES AND DARK FORESTS,/WITH GLORIOUS VALOUR AND UNWAVERING LOYALTY,/THEY LEFT A LASTING LEGACY IN OUR HEARTS AND MINDS./- KISHOR LIMBU/THE FIRST GURKHA REGIMENT WAS FORMED/ON APRIL 24, 1815. SINCE THEN, THE GURKHAS/HAVE BECOME AN INTEGRAL PART OF/THE BRITISH ARMY, SERVING ACROSS THE GLOBE,/THEIR ONGOING PRESENCE AND CULTURAL/EXCHANGE REINFORCE THE ENDURING/RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BRITAIN AND NEPAL./THIS MONUMENT IS DEDCIATED TO THE GURKHAS/AND THEIR FAMILIES FOR THEIR COURAGE,/SCRIFICE, ENDURANCE, AND CONTRIBUTIONS TO/BOTH NEPAL AND THE UNITED KINGDOM./This face includes Special Thanks to individuals and groups involved in its creation, design and funding./Right face list the Gurkha's Battle of Honours with dates and surrounded by regimental badges./Back face list individuals and groups who donated to the memorial and the donor amount./Left face lists the names of the 26 Victoria Cross holders and a description of the monument./'JAI GURKHA'
