WMR Reference Number: 111699
Description: Family headstone of an unknown type of unpolished stone. The headstone sits on top of a base plinth, the top of which is at ground level. The headstone has a basket arch at its peak below which is the lettering which is engraved into the stone and appears to have been highlighted with black paint which appears to have mostly worn away.
Inscription: Erected / BY / PETER AND MARGARET STEWART, / IN MEMORY OF THEIR BELOVED CHILDREN / MARGARET MCANDREW STEWART, / WHO DIED 12TH OCTOBER 1875 / AGED 2 YEARS. / AND JANE DICK STEWART, / DIED IN INFANCY 1875. / ALSO THEIR SONS WILLIAM / WHO DIED AT ABERLOUR / 19TH MAY 1913 AGED 44 YEARS / AND CHARLES WHO WAS KILLED IN ACTION / IN BELGIUM / 16TH OCT. 1917 AGED 31 YEARS. / ALSO THE ABOVE PETER STEWART / WHO DIED AT 30A QUEEN STREET LOSSIEMOUTH / 9TH SEP. 1925 AGED 78 YEARS. / AND THE ABOVE MARGARET STEWART OR SHAND / WHO DIED AT STATION HOUSE DRUMMUIR / 25TH OCT. 1928 AGED 79 YEARS.
