    Description
    Latin cross standing on a three stepped base at the head of a wide plot bordered by low stone kerbs. Running vertically down the front of the cross are 6 fleurons. Below these is a carving of what appears to be crossed swords with a further fleuron near the base. Each of the horizontal arms also has two fleurons on it. All carvings are in relief.

    … ALSO IN MEMORY OF / HOME PEEL M.C. D.S.O.  CAPT. 8TH LONDON REGT. / WHO WAS KILLED AT LONGNEVAL [sic] IN  FRANCE 24 MARCH 1918 AGED 33/  THEY LIVE FOR EVERMORE THEIR REWARD IS ALSO IS WITH THE LORD /  THE CARE OF THEM IS WITH THE MOST HIGH / FOR GOD CREATED MAN TO BE IMMORTAL, AND MADE HIM TO BE AN / IMAGE OF HIS OWN ETERNITY .
