    Description
    Three large central hard wooden doors to the University chapel, flanked by names of the dead. The central most door is headed and flanked with a dedication to the First World War. There are two additional doors, either side, which are headed with the dedications for the Second World War. Above the central door the letters 'IHS' are carved with a decorative solar ray emblem in the centre.

    Above WW1 door: IN PERPETUAL MEMORY/ OF THE MEN OF KING'S COLLEGE/ WHO DIED IN THE SERVICE/ OF RIGHT AND DUTY/ IN THE YEARS 1914-1918 AND IN DEDICATION/ TO THOSE WHO CAME AFTER/ PERFECTING AND FINISHING/ OF THE WORK THEY BEGAN/ AND NOBLY ADVANCED TANTUS LABORE NON SIT CASSUS (ALL THIS EFFORT IS NOT IN VAIN) Above WW2 doors: AMABILES IN VITA SUA // IN MORTE NON DIVISI (LOVELY IN THEIR LIVES, NOT DIVIDED IN DEATH) Only the second WW2 doorway in images K-Y
