Description: Ornate landscape oriented, shallow nowy-headed brass plaque within a nowy-headed wooden frame. Raised inscription at the top of the plaque and engraved names below. / Note: the names on the plaque are also listed on the Celtic cross outside the church - see memorial 11598 "St John The Evangelist Church - Cross".
Inscription: 1914 + 1919 / TO THE GLORY OF GOD & IN HONOURED & GRATEFUL MEMORY OF THE MEN WHO BY / GOD'S GRACE VICTORIOUS, FOUGHT FOR THEIR COUNTRY & DIED THAT THE CAUSE / OF FREEDOM AND RIGHT MIGHT TRIUMPH IN THIS WORLD; AND MORE PARTICULARLY / OF THE MEN OF THIS PARISH WHOSE NAMES ARE INSCRIBED HEREUNDER. / (NAMES) / "DEATH IS SWALLOWED UP IN VICTORY"
