    Feb 2012: Scrap metal dealer donates £21,000 to replace name plaques. Plans are in place to make new name tablets using Portland stone. Sep. 2011 plaques reported stolen. 23 Feb. 2010 Grade II listed Feb 2008 man jailed for two months for stealing York stone slabs from the memorial. April 2005 application for grant As originally constructed, the names were recorded with individual bronze letters set into the stone. In 1982 it was reported that many had dropped out and later replacement plaques were added.
