    Description
Aberdeen granite sculpture of a soldier of the South Lancashire Regiment with bayonet at the ready, mounted on a corniced plinth at the top of a square sectioned column with polished columns on each face reaching down to a sectioned plinth. The incised dedication sits on a polished panel on the 9 o'clock face of the plinth, beneath a carving of the town's crest. The WW1 names are incised on similar panels on the other three faces. The WW2 dedication is inscribed in lead beneath the WW1 panel, with the names on the sections beneath. A WW1 addendum list is incised beneath the names on the 12 o'clock face.
