    WOODEN LYCH GATE OVER ENTRANCE TO CHURCH GROUNDS. BASE OF RED SANDSTONE. GATES OF OAK. TILED ROOF. WOODEN PLAQUE ON INSIDE OF STRUCTURE BEARS INSCRIPTION AND CHRIST FIGURE IN BRASS ON CROSS OF OAK. CARVED VASES AND LEAVES IN CORNERS OF ARCHES. ORNATE CARVED PEDIMENT TO PITCHED ROOF.

    TO THE GLORY OF GOD/ AND IN LOVING MEMORY/ OF THE MEN FROM THIS PARISH /WHO MADE THE/ SUPREME SACRIFICE/ IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914-1918/ THIS LYCH GATE WAS/ ERECTED BY THE/ GRATEFUL INHABITANTS/ OF ROLLESTON/ "GREATER LOVE HATH/ NO MAN THAN THIS,/ THAT A MAN LAY/ DOWN HIS LIFE FOR/ HIS FRIENDS"/ IN REMEMBRANCE OF/ 1939-1945/ THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES
