    • Initial proposals Dundee Evening Telegraph - Wednesday 09 July 1919-CALLANDER WAR MEMORIAL. At a meeting of the Callander District War Memorial Committee it was resolved to proceed with the erection of a monument in the public square. The design is to be based upon suggestions by Mr Archd. Kay, A.R.S.A., and the scheme is to be carried out under the supervision of Mr Alastair M'Michael, Callander, as architect. The monument, which is to be from 30 to 35 feet height, is to be built of local stone, the centre block providing for four insets in bronze, on which the names of the fallen soldiers and other relative facts will be inscribed.
