    Eleanor cross mounted on octagonal castellated plinth. Plinth has gothic arch insets with plaques with names mounted within.

    Maintenance History
    2018. Memorial renovated and all panels renewed with over 40 errors corrected and 53 names from WW1 added. Reference to Lt Horwood's VC not included. 2018 name of C Langtry added to memorial 2012 July name of Lt A G Horwood VC, DCM added to WW2 names. 2008: The stone pillars on the memorial were damaged when a man climbed on the memorial. The man was charged by police. 2006: WW2 name of LCpl P Perry added 2006: Name of a WW2 casualty, Lance Coporal Phillip Perry, RAOC, who died in a Japanese POW camp but was omitted from the memorial, was added in April 2004: To be cleaned by the town council in MArch 1953. Civilian War Dead added
