Description: A soldier holding a rifle in his left hand and a helmet aloft in the right hand, he stands on debris of the war. The soldier is mounted onto a tall square plinth which bears dedicatory plaques and the whole is surrounded by a low chain.
Inscription: 6 o'clock face: OUR GLORIOUS DEAD / 1914 - 1918 / DUTY NOBLY DONE // ALSO IN MEMORY OF / THOSE WHO FELL IN THE WAR / 1939 - 1945 / 12 o'clock face: THIS MEMORIAL / WAS ERECTED BY PUBLIC SUBSCRIPTION / RAISED THROUGH THE WORTHING GAZETTE / IT WAS UNVEILED BY / FIELD-MARSHAL SIR WILLIAM ROBERTSON B.A.R.T., G.C.B. / ON 11TH APRIL 1921
