    BRITANNIA HOLDING TRIDENT ALOFT IN RIGHT HAND SURMOUNTING SQUARE PEDESTAL, POSSIBLY HOLDING AN EAGLE WITH WINGS SPREAD IN HER LEFT HAND. BEHIND IS WALL BEARING NAME PANELS.

    1952, September: General Purpose Committee minute their decision not to spend funds on floodlighting the memorial. 1949, October: Wrights of Bradford appointed to cut the names of Second World War casualties. 1948, November: Morley Borough General Purpose Committee minutes record approval for the addition of Second World War names to the memorial. Names are to be gathered by the townhall and submitted by 1st January 1949.
