    Rectangular tablet with triangular pediment and regimental badge above. The names are in four columns in black lettering and the whole is supported by two corbels.
    Inscription
    THIS MEMORIAL IS ERECTED TO THE MEMORY OF THOSE OF THE 1ST/3RD KENT FIELD COMPANY/ ROYAL ENGINEERS, WHO VOLUNTEERED TO SERVE THEIR KING AND COUNTRY IN THE WAR OF 1914/ AND LOST THEIR LIVES IN MUDROS, WHEN UPON HMS HYTHE, WHICH WAS SUNK/ IN A COLLISION WITH HMS SARNIA ON THE NIGHT OF OCTOBER 28TH 1915/ THE NAMES OF ALL WHO PERISHED IN THIS CATASTROPHE ARE INSCRIBED BELOW. Small plaque below: THE HYTHE MEMORIAL/ ON WHICH ARE INSCRIBED/ THE NAMES OF THE MANY MEN FROM/ SOUTHBOROUGH AND HIGH BROOMS/ WAS ORIGINALLY PLACED IN/ THE DRILL HALL, SPELDHURST ROAD/ AND WAS ERECTED HERE IN 1969.
