Inscription: IN / MEMORY / OF / (NAMES) / OF THIS PARISH WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR GOD, / KING AND / COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1919 / SONS OF THIS PLACE LET THIS OF YOU BE SAID / THAT YOU WHO LIVE ARE WORTHY OF YOUR DEAD / THESE GAVE THEIR LIVES THAT YOU WHO LIVE MAY REAP / A RICHER HARVEST ERE YOU FALL ASLEEP / BE THOU FAITHFUL UNTO DEATH AND I WILL / GIVE THEE A CROWN OF LIFE / REV. 11 / MAY THEY REST IN PEACE

Maintenance History: 2003: parish council are wanting to repair the memorial but cost of faculty that they have been asked to pay might make the cost prohibitive. If that is the case they are thinking of erected a new memorial instead. (information from telephone call) Date unknown: memorial was originally whole but it broke in half. The top half was embedded in the ground with the bottom half behind it.
