    A cream-coloured veined marble tablet with a white marble surround. A dark figure of an angel with raised arms is fixed to the tablet at top centre. The inscription is made of dark metal letters and numbers fixed to the tablet.

    IN MEMORY OF / ARCHIBALD THOMAS WYNNE CONSTABLE / MAJOR IN THE ESSEX REGIMENT / (THE POMPADOURS) / ONLY SON OF THOMAS CONSTABLE / VICAR OF THIS PARISH / AND OF AMY MARY ANNE CONSTABLE HIS WIFE / HE WHILST FIGHTING FOR HIS COUNTRY / WAS WOUNDED IN THE TRENCHES BEFORE LOOS / ON OCTOBER 12TH 1915 / AND DIED ON THE 16TH OF THE SAME MONTH / AT THE AGE OF THIRTY TWO / HE WAS BURIED IN THE MILITARY CEMETERY / AT CHOCQUES PAS DE CALAIS. / IN AMOREM SEMPITERNUM. // (Note: these Latin words translate as 'In eternal love'.)
