Description: A tudor-style two storey gateway consists of a rectangular upper room reached by stone staircase which has round wooden carved panels listing names of fallen by parish. A pair of double bronze doors with coats of arms and panelled ceiling.

Sponsored By: Sir Robert J Thomas , philanthropist, bestowed £20,000 which was intended to equip the university with new science facilities. It was later agreed that the sum would be used to commemorate the men of North Wales and include a "special central feature"
Additional Cost/Sponsorship Information: Detail from The North Wales Heroes' Memorial Arch leaflet states the Memorial cost was £15000 in 1918. Using Bank of England Inflation Calculator this sum equates to in excess of £743,000
Maintenance History: Grade II listed. late 2009: Restoration work completed. Plans for re-dedication ceremony in Summer 2010. Mar. 2009 restoration work began with aim of completing in June. 2006: Damaged foundations require an estimated &£163;160,000 in repair work. Archway closed for 6 months although negotiations led to limited opening of the plaque room for Remembrance Day 2006. 2003: Local press reports cover complaints over use of memorial area for skateboarding. 2025: the doors to the interior of the arch (where the memorials are) have been kept locked recently, due to protestors having a camp, next to the memorial. Access can be gained, via contacting Bangor University and on Rememberance Sunday (latter cannot be guaranteed)
