    • Staffordshire Advertiser Saturday 10th June 1922 reported: 'WILLENHALL. Tribute to War Heroes.—Two massive tablets of Portland stone, containing 396 names, have been added the obelisk unveiled recently by Lord Dartmouth, and were dedicated on Saturday afternoon. Mr. C. H. Pinson, who presided, said that spot, with its record of local heroes would be honoured by all. Mr. J. T. Kidson (chairman of the War Memorial Committee) unveiled the tablets, and said in his judgment the greatest remedy against war, and the greatest hope lay in the League of Nations. After the dedication by the Rev. T. H. P. Hyatt. Mr. G. R- Thorne, M.P.. said so long as Willenhall lasted, the names of the men who gave their lives to save the country would go down to posterity, and would be a record of loyal and patriotic service'. https://www.britishnewspaperarchive.co.uk/viewer/bl/0000252/19220610/235/0008
