Type of Memorial: Obelisk
WMR Reference Number: 17760
Description: A tall obelisk set on a rectangular plinth on three steps. The obelisk has a gabled top decorated with 'egg and dart' moulding. There is a raised front panel with a wreath at top, then the dedication and the names of those who fell in WW1. The plinth has a further dedicatory inscription, and the uppermost of the three steps below has the names of those who fell in WW2. The memorial is enclosed with metal railings.
Inscription: On shaft of obelisk: CÔFARWYDD / O EDMYGEDD / À PHÀRCH / ÀRDDÀLWYR / CERRIG-Y-DRUDION / I'W / MEIBION DEWRION / À GWYMPODD YN Y / RHYFEL MÀWR / 1914 - 1918 / (7 names) / HEFYD BU FARW / OHERWYDD EU / GWASANAETH MILWROL /(4 names) On plinth: "MEWN ANGOF NI CHÂNT FOD" On uppermost step below plinth: 1939 - 1945 / (NAMES)
