    Description
The original memorial formed panelling in the Company's offices, the central dedicatory panel being set above a marble fireplace, with three panels set each side bearing the names of the WW1 fallen. After WW2 the central dedication was reworked to include reference to WW2, and the fallen of that conflict were inscribed upon the supporting panels each side of the central pediment. A carving of the Company's coat of arms sits within the central triangular pediment, above the dedicatory panel, which is surrounded by a border of carved leaves, with a funeral urn in half-relief in the centre of the lower border. Carved laurel wreaths are set over each column of names. The Company was one of Manchester's major employers. The Manchester Book of Remembrance lists over 1,000 employees who served in WW1.
