Description: The obelisk is located within a small garden area of the Reading Room, next to the roadside. Cornish stone square base surmounted by a Portland stone square plinth with square tapering Portland stone obelisk. Inscriptions on inset panel on front face of plinth. At the foot of the obelisk is a carved cross & crown.
Inscription: IN / EVER / GRATEFUL MEMORY / OF OUR MEN FROM / CHURCH LAWFORD / AND / KINGS NEWNHAM / WHO FELL IN / THE GREAT WAR 1914 - 1918. / (NAMES) / "GREAT LOVE HATH NO / MAN THAN THIS THAT A / MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS." / 1939 - 1945 / (NAMES)
