Description: Rising from ground level and supported by a brick pillar and low wall each side, is a hooded gable-headed and shouldered, stone monument incorporating four portrait orientated bronze plaques set into recesses. All plaques have raised lettering and the two outer plaques have a flower head in relief at top and bottom centres. Above the plaques is a decoratively ornate tracery consisting of roses and foliage, all of which, dominate the memorial. Bronze laurel wreath at each of top corners of auxiliary stone support pillars.
Inscription: Plaque 1 Outer left : 1939 - 1945 / (6 Names) Plaque 2 Inner left : "GREATER LOVE HATH / NO MAN THAN THIS / THAT A MAN LAY DOWN / HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS" / JOHN XV.13 / .1915. / (6 Names) / .1916. / (8 Names) Plaque 3 Inner right : .1917. / (7 Names) / .1918. / (8 Names) / .1919. / (3 Names) Plaque 4 Outer right : 1939 - 1945 / (6 Names) Monument : ERECTED BY THE TOWNSPEOPLE / TO THE MEMORY OF THOSE / WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR / 1914 - 1919
