    Description
    The bombed-out ruins of St Peter's Church is kept as a memorial. On North-Western exterior wall a black slate tablet remembers the citizens who died. Below the tablet a separate (presumably later) memorial comprising 5 rectangular adjoined metal plaques fixed to a backboard. Top plaque describes memorial in white raised lettering flanked by 2 Bristol coats of arms. The other 4 plaques list the names of those who died in white lettering.
    Inscription
    Earlier slate tablet: IN MEMORY OF THE CITIZENS OF BRISTOL AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS WHO DIED IN THE BLITZ DURING THE 1939-1945 WAR. Later plaques: CIVILIANS AND AUXILIARY PERSONNEL/WHO LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE GREATER BRISTOL AREA/DURING AIR RAIDS CARRIED OUT BETWEEN/JUNE 1940 AND MAY 1944/THEY LIVE IN THE MEMORY OF THE LIVING/(APPROX. 1300 NAMES)
