Description: COLUMN ON TWO STEPPED BASE SURMOUNTED BY AN ORB. WREATH AND CROSSED SWORDS CONTAINING INSCRIPTION ON FRONT FACE. WREATH IN RELIEF LOOPED AROUND THE TOP OF THE COLUMN. It was a privately erected War Memorial.
Inscription: (in the wreath on the column) TO/ ENGLAND'S/ HEROES/ 1914 - 1919/ (on plinth) THEIR SHRINES STAND ON EVERY HIGHWAY/ WHOSE LAMPS OF REMEMBRANCE ABIDE/ FED WITH LOVE FROM THE HEART-SPRINGS OF ENGLAND/ AND LIT FROM THE TORCH OF HER PRIDE
