    Description
    PLAIN CELTIC STYLE CROSS SET IN CONCAVE CURVING WALL SUPPORTED BY FOUR PILLARS ALL IN STONE. AT THE BASE OF THE CROSS IS A BRONZE PLAQUE, RECTANGULAR WITH A CONVEX CURVED TOP. ON THE PLAQUE IN LOW RELIEF IS A SOLDIER, BAREHEADED, CARRYING A FLAG, BEHIND HIM A MOUNTED FIGURE OF ST GEORGE. BELOW THE PLAQUE IS THE DEDICATION. ON EITHER SIDE OF THIS ARE TWO PANELS EACH WITH TWO COLUMNS OF NAMES OF THOSE WHO DIED IN WW1 AND ON EACH SIDE OF THESE A FURTHER PANEL BEARING THE NAMES OF THOSE WHO DIED IN WW2 . BELOW THE LEFT MOST PANEL A SMALL PANEL WITH THE NAME OF A SOLDIER WHO DIED IN AFGHANISTAN. THE OUTER TWO WW2 PANELS APPEAR TO BE A LATER ADDITION ALTHOUGH ARE IDENTICAL IN APPEARANCE TO THE REMAINDER OF THE MEMORIAL. THE WHOLE IS SET ON A BASE WITH AT THE CENTRE TWO OUTWARDLY CURVING STEPS. ALL THE NAMES AND DEDICATION ARE INCISED UPPER-CASE LETTERING COLOURED BLACK. THE SETTING IS AN ENCLOSED GARDEN OF REMEMBRANCE WHICH ALSO CONTAINS FOUR MEMORIAL TREES (WMR REFERENCES: 55829, 56159, 56160 AND 75793.
