    Current Location

Letter dated 03.07.2000 from Jean Trower (GU7 3AW) to Jim Knight : "... it did originally stand outside - to the right of the short path to the church door, where before there was a lawn and border, there were various shrubs. If I remember rightly, members of the Institute (mainly British Legion members) attended Mattins at All Saints' on the Sunday nearest Remembrance Day and went outside for the 2-minute Silence and then placed a wreath on the memorial. Originally, there was a hole in the shelf of the memorial and occasionally flowers were put there in a vase. The memorial was brought inside the church (when?) because of vandalism of the said vase and flowers and also with deterioration of the woodwork and lettering due to the weather, it became too costly to maintain outside....". , ALL SAINTS CHURCH, New Haw, Runnymede, Surrey, England

    • The Sunday Herald, Friday, April 13 2017. "A war shrine given anonymously and erected outside All Saints' Church, New Haw, was dedicated by the Rev. E Dennett before Evensong on Easter Day, in the presence of a large number of those interested. It takes the form of a triptych with a copper cross beneath, on which are inserted the names of the New Haw men who have fallen. On the side panel are the names of those serving from this district."
