    Additional Cost/Sponsorship Information
The War memorial was erected by the parish War Memorial Committee under the auspices of the Vicar, a Captain Santers and a Mr Everett, who originally hoped to raise £1000 to build a memorial Hall. By June 1919, note even half that amount was achieved, and therefore the decision was made to erect a cross instead.
    Maintenance History
2021: Memorial damaged when it was hit by a vehicle on New Year's Eve The memorial was cleaned at various times in the 1920s, perhaps leading to deterioration of lettering, through build up of biological growth. Listed Grade II (505674) 8 Jan. 2009.
