    Two-stepped base surmounted by octagonal plinth, shaft and ornate cross. Inscription of WW1 names on the sides of the plinth, 2 small plaques added for WW2 names.

    Public funds were used to install the original memorial. The rebuilding work in 1997/98 was funded by Hampshire CC with some financial support also provided by Farnham Town Council and Binstead Parish Council.

    Maintenance History
    1998: THE MEMORIAL WAS HIT BY A CAR WHICH SHIFTED THE MEMORIAL ABOUT 150mm AND MADE IT INSECURE. THE MEMORIAL WAS REMOVED FOR SAFETY REASONS BUT PLANS WERE PUT IN PLACE TO RE-POSITION IT IN THE SAME AREA BUT WITHIN A RE-DESIGNED ROAD LAYOUT October 1998: THE MEMORIAL WAS RESTORED AND RE POSITIONED ADJACENT TO THE HEDGE OF THE NEARBY PUB RATHER THAN ON A TRAFFIC ISLAND IN THE CENTRE OF THE JUNCTION.
