    Description
    Two-stepped octagonal base surmounted by a composite square sectioned plinth followed by an integrated cross with capped arms. Incised inscription and names on raised tablets on each face of the plinth. WW2 angled tablet placed at the foot of the 6 o'clock plinth face. Laurel branches carved in relief on the sides of the plinth and wreath carved around the base of the cross. Crusader sword in relief on front face of cross.

    6 o'clock plinth face tablet: 1914 - 1919. / This Memorial / commemorates those Sunbury Men / who, at the call of King and Country / left all that was dear to them, endured / hardness, faced danger, and finally / passed out of the sight of men by the / path of duty and self sacrifice, / giving up their own lives that others / might live in freedom. / LET THOSE WHO COME AFTER SEE TO IT / THAT THEIR NAME BE NOT FORGOTTEN." // 6 o'clock plinth base tablet: To Commemorate / those who fell / 1939 - 1945 / and in / subsequent engagements. // 3, 9 and 12 o'clock plinth face tablets: (125 NAMES)
