    Description
Attached to the south side of the cottage is an early 19th century Gothic screen wall, apparently designed to close a view, in which there is an ogee stone arch with ball finial and length of coped wall to a tall moulded pointed arch with plain impost blocks, infilled with ashlar walling. This was converted to be the village War Memorial by the addition of a wrought-iron, black cross with elaborate surround, at the centre of which is the commemoration in white lettering. The names are on two tablets to either side of the cross, set upon the arch supports: each tablet carries four names in black lettering and a single, carved column.
