Inscription: TO THE GLORY OF GOD AND IN MEMORY OF/ RONALD JOHN RANULPH LEACROFT/ CAPTAIN, 3RD SOMERSET LIGHT INFANTRY,/ BELOVED YOUNGER SON OF EDWARD RANULPH LEACROFT (LORD OF THE MANOR/ OF ROWBERROW) AND ALICE, HIS WIFE./ HE WAS WOUNDED AT MONS, 1914, AND AWARDED THE MILITARY CROSS IN/ JUNE 1916./ HE FELL ON JULY 1ST 1916 IN THE BATTLE OF THE SOMME, WHILE/ GALLANTLY LEADING HIS COMPANY IN ACTION AND WAS BURIED IN THE MILITARY/ CEMETERY NEAR BEAUMONT HAMEL, FRANCE. AGED 22 YEARS./ THIS TABLET IS ERECTED BY HIS BROTHER AND SISTERS.
