    Description
    TWO-STEPPED OCTAGONAL BASE SURMOUNTED BY SQUARE TAPERING PLINTH, SHAFT AND WHEEL CELTIC CROSS. MEMORIAL FORMED OF GRANITE. INSCRIPTION ON ONE SIDE OF THE PLINTH AND ON THE SIDES OF THE STEPS. THE MEMORIAL STANDS WITHIN AN OCTAGONAL AREA CONSTRUCTED WITH GRANITE KERBING, INSIDE WHICH, IS A GRASS VERGE BEFORE THE BASE. THERE IS A BRONZE SHIELD ATTACHED TO THE FRONT FACE OF THE CROSS WHICH PORTRAYS A PHOENIX. ALL OF THE NAMES AND INSCRIPTION COMPRISES BLACK CAPITAL LETTERS.

    front face - FAITHFUL TO KING AND COUNTRY/ TO THE HONOURED MEMORY/ OF THE MEN OF BRADNINCH/ WHO LAID DOWN THEIR LIVES/ IN THE GREAT WAR/ 1914 - 1919/ "BECAUSE YOU LIVE, THOUGH OUT OF SIGHT AND REACH,/ I WILL, SO HELP ME GOD, GIVE BRAVELY TOO"/ (52 names) below the main plinth and on the front 3 faces of the top octagonal base - ALSO OF THOSE/ WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES/ IN THE WAR 1939 - 1945/ (12 names)/ below this and on the first octagonal base - WAR IN KOREA/ (1 name)
